Malls Across U.S. Beef Up Security After Brawls - WSJ

Malls Across U.S. Beef Up Security After Brawls - WSJ

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that shopping malls across the country are taking additional security precautions after a string of disturbances on the day after Christmas (aka Boxing Day) that resulted in minor injuries, evacuations, a score of arrests and tightened sphincters.

As previously reported on Security Guard News and Information, dozens of towns reported group fights breaking out at malls in various cities to include reports of shots being fired.

Some of these incidents, it is believed, were sparked by the use of "social media" promising "flash fights" which drew anxious crowds of wannabe onlookers.

In the end there were some arrests and some injuries but no acts of terrorism.
